چکیده
Abstract Introduction Laparoscopy use is exponentially increasing, rapidly becoming the gold standard for many procedures. It technically demanding, requiring specialised training which not accessible in early medical education. Studies have shown that interest can be stimulated by experiential learning. Our study evaluates current students’ and exposure to laparoscopy. Method Multiple-choice questionnaires were sent London students assessing their laparoscopic school. Results 231 (86 pre-clinical, 145 clinical students) participated. 174 (75.3%) reported receiving no during 32 (13.9%) less than one hour of training, 21 (9.1%) two three hours 4 (1.7%) ten training. 100% interested further simulation Conclusions There insufficient laparoscopy The majority receive minimal laparoscopy, despite wanting Teaching basic skills may provide a feasible option engaging

Leaving the Past Behind
There is considerable interest from the wider scientific community in the heritability of epigenetic states across generations, and this has arisen as a result of a series of studies in mice [1,2], flies [3], plants [4,5], and yeast [6] over the past decade. These studies have identified genetic elements at which epigenetic states appear to be inherited through meiosis. The Lamarckian implicati...

The search for a single silver bullet for the treatment of cancer has now been overshadowed by the identification of multiple therapeutic targets unique to each malignancy and even to each patient. In recent years, autophagy has emerged as one such therapeutic target. In response to both therapeutic and oncogenic stress, cancer cells upregulate and demonstrate an increased dependence upon this ...
متن کاملThe times they are a-changin': mobile PIM is leaving the paper trail behind
Use practices in personal information management (PIM) evolve continually. The data from our two studies, a survey study (n=61) on to-do use practices and a diary/interview study (n=11) on smartphone use in PIM, suggests that electronic PIM has finally reached paper-based PIM in popularity. Mobile phones and their development have been integral to this development: Better input possibilities an...
